Pelham is located in the central portion of Alabama, 17 miles south of Birmingham. Pelham is part of Shelby County, considered the fastest-growing county in Alabama. The City of Pelham is situated between two regional corridors, Highway 31 and Interstate 65, offering convenient and easy access to cities such as Birmingham, Huntsville, Nashville, Atlanta, and the beautiful beaches of south Alabama. Being connected to these corridors attracts businesses, a workforce, and investment.

Pelham is a wonderful place to call home and a great place to visit. In addition to our scenic neighborhoods, green trails, and recreational activities, Pelham is home to Oak Mountain State Park, the largest State Park in Alabama. It offers over 11,500 acres of forest hiking and horse trails, The Oaks Golf Course, miles of mountain biking, and three lakes for swimming, canoeing, and paddle boarding.

Pelham is home to more than 5,500 businesses, with 1,700 of them being small or mid-sized businesses. The City of Pelham formed its own school system in 2016.
